instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church. There are seven sacraments, each serving a unique purpose in the spiritual life of believers.

The Catholic Sacraments are sacred rituals that serve as channels of divine grace.

  • Sacrament of Baptism

    Baptism

This is the first sacrament of initiation, marking the entry into the Christian community. Through the pouring of water and invocation of the Holy Trinity, original sin is washed away, and the individual becomes a new creation in Christ.

  • Sacrament of Eucharist

    Eucharist

Often referred to as the “source and summit of the Christian life,” the Eucharist is the celebration of Christ’s sacrifice through the consecration of bread and wine, which become the Body and Blood of Christ. It nourishes the soul and unites believers with Jesus and one another.

  • Sacrament of Reconciliation

    Reconciliation

Also known as Confession or Penance, this sacrament offers forgiveness and healing. Through the confession of sins to a priest and the reception of absolution, individuals are reconciled with God and the Church.

  • Sacrament of Confirmation

    Confirmation

This sacrament strengthens and deepens the grace received at Baptism. By anointing with Chrism oil and the laying on of hands, the confirmed receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit, empowering them to live as mature Christians.

  • Sacrament of Anointing the Sick

    Anointing of the Sick

This sacrament provides comfort and healing through the anointing with oil and prayers for those who are seriously ill or facing surgery. It offers spiritual strength and, if God wills, physical healing.

  • Sacrament of Holy Orders

    Holy Orders:

This sacrament is reserved for those called to serve the Church as deacons, priests, or bishops. Through ordination, these men receive the grace to carry out their ministry and lead the faithful.

  • Sacrament of Matrimony

    Matrimony

The sacrament of marriage unites a man and a woman in a lifelong covenant of love and partnership. It reflects the union of Christ and the Church, providing graces to the couple to live out their vocation.
